~Meet Dr. Anna and Hope Storm~

Hi, I’m Dr. Anna. I am so glad you stopped by! I’ve spent my whole career working with people from diverse backgrounds and communities and educating myself on various topics, modalities, and ideologies to better serve those I work with. I am deeply passionate about walking with people as they discover and map out their own individualized healing journeys. I am a proud nerd when it comes to the stress response system (which includes trauma) and regulation strategies. I believe that by using the learned knowledge, innate wisdom, and gifted intuition of our minds, bodies, and spirits, we can change patterns within us to live more balanced lives.

After spending 15 years working primarily in the nonprofit world, I witnessed many ways that the systems in place fail people (this is not a statement about nonprofits but a statement about the systems). About halfway through my doctorate in clinical psychology, with every plan to be a therapist, I headed in a different direction. I switched my focus to forensic psychology, jumping outside the box to look at stress and trauma differently, and decided to not put myself into yet another system. I looked at new research and new techniques that worked but hadn’t yet been made mainstream and looked past the traditional talk therapy that has been used for, well, forever. Getting out of that box opened my eyes to so much. And that is when Hope Storm was born. I started Hope Storm to create a space where individuals and organizations could break free from outdated models and access trauma-informed approaches to growth, resilience, and transformation. I wanted to challenge the limitations of traditional systems and offer something different–something that truly meets people where they are, something that is truly personalized and client-focused. Hope Storm was built on the belief that healing and change require more than just surface-level solutions. It’s about understanding the nervous system, exploring mind-body techniques, and creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Through coaching, hypnotherapy, consulting, and education, I guide people in reclaiming their sense of agency, aligning with their inner wisdom, and transforming the impact of stress and trauma in their lives. Hope Storm is more than a business–it’s a movement to rethink how we approach well-being, leadership, and resilience in a world that often demands too much while giving too little in return.

My husband, kiddo, two pups, and I live in the Black Hills of South Dakota. My work is all virtual, allowing people to connect from wherever they are while saving valuable commuting time and being in an environment that is comfortable and familiar to them. This flexibility makes it easier to integrate sessions into daily life, reducing stress and making personal growth, resilience-building, and transformation more accessible. Whether you’re at home, in your office, or in a quiet space of your choosing, virtual sessions provide the same depth and effectiveness as in-person work while offering the convenience and ease of connecting from anywhere. When not at Hope Storm, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, camping, hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, thrift and antique shopping (treasure hunting), reading, and focusing on self-care activities (like rest ;)).

(The puppy in the photo is Millie. She lacks boundaries :))
