Reiki
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing practice rooted in the Japanese tradition of Usui Shiki Ryoho. The word “Reiki” translates roughly to “universal life energy” — the idea that the body has an innate capacity for balance, and that supporting the flow of energy within and around it can promote a sense of calm, clarity, and well-being.
Reiki is a gentle and powerful practices for supporting the whole person — body, mind, and spirit. It works not by pushing or forcing, but by inviting. By creating space. By supporting what your body and being already know how to do.
At Hope Storm, all Reiki is offered at a distance — because Reiki energy is not limited by physical proximity. Whether we connect live via Zoom or I send energy remotely without you present, the practice is equally valid and equally effective within the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition.
Reiki is not a medical treatment and does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. It is a complementary wellness practice intended to support the whole person — body, mind, and spirit.

Session Formats
Live Virtual Session via Zoom
We connect in real time via Zoom. You will be in your own space — wherever feels most comfortable and relaxing to you. Dr. Anna will open with a brief check-in, then guide you into a relaxed, receptive state while sending Reiki energy. Sessions close with a short conversation about your experience. This format is ideal for those who prefer real-time connection and support.
Distance Session (Sent Remotely)
Energy is sent without you needing to be on a call. You can receive while going about your day. Dr. Anna will follow up via message to share observations from the session. This format is ideal for those whose schedule makes live sessions difficult.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese energy healing practice rooted in the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition. The word “Reiki” translates roughly to “universal life energy” — the understanding that all living beings carry an energetic life force, and that supporting the flow of that energy can promote balance, calm, and well-being. Reiki is not massage, not therapy, and not a medical treatment.
Does distance Reiki actually work?
Yes — and this is one of the most common questions, which makes complete sense. Distance Reiki is taught at the Second Degree level of Usui Shiki Ryoho using the distance symbol, and is a well-established part of the tradition. Reiki energy is understood to move beyond the limits of physical space. Many clients find distance sessions just as meaningful — sometimes more so — than in-person work.
Do I have to do anything during the session?
For a live Zoom session, you simply rest and receive. For a remotely sent session, you don’t have to do anything specific. Some people meditate. Some rest. Some go about their day. There is no wrong way to receive.
What does a Reiki session feel like?
Every experience is unique. Some people notice warmth, tingling, or a sense of heaviness. Others experience emotional shifts, vivid imagery, or simply a deep and welcome sense of rest. Some notice nothing during the session and feel shifts in the hours or days that follow. All of it is normal.
Is Reiki safe?
Yes. Reiki is gentle, non-invasive, and has no known harmful side effects. It is a complementary wellness practice and is not a substitute for medical or mental health care. If you are currently working with a medical or mental health provider, Reiki can be a supportive addition to that care.
What if I’m skeptical?
Skepticism is welcome here. You don’t have to believe in Reiki for it to be worth exploring. Openness is enough. If after a session it doesn’t resonate with you, Hope Storm offers a range of other modalities that may be a better fit.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends entirely on you and what you’re seeking. Some people notice meaningful shifts after a single session. Others prefer ongoing sessions as part of a broader wellness practice. There is no required number and no pressure.
Pricing and Packages
All Reiki sessions are offered at a distance, live via Zoom or remotely sent. Equitable pricing is available for low-income clients based on need. Monthly and biweekly payment plans are available through automatic payments.
What to Expect
Taking the first step toward something unfamiliar can feel uncertain, and that’s completely okay. Here’s what you can expect when working with Dr. Anna for Reiki at Hope Storm:
The Consultation
Your journey begins with a free 30-minute consultation. This is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation where we talk about what brings you in, answer any questions you have about Reiki, and explore which session format feels like the right fit for you. There is no obligation. Just an open, honest conversation.
Getting Comfortable
All sessions are virtual, so you’ll be in your own space, wherever feels most relaxing to you. You might be reclined in a favorite chair, resting on your couch, or lying in bed. Creating a comfortable environment supports your experience. This might include soft music, a weighted blanket, essential oils, dimmed lighting, or headphones.
The Session
For a live Zoom session, Dr. Anna will guide you into a relaxed, receptive state and send Reiki energy while you rest. For a remotely sent session, energy is directed to you while you go about your day. You do not need to do anything except be open to receive.
After Your Session
Following a live session, Dr. Anna will check in briefly to share any observations and invite you to share your experience. Following a distance session, a follow-up message will be sent. It is common to notice shifts in the hours and days following Reiki, changes in mood, sleep, energy levels, or emotional ease. Keeping a journal can be a helpful way to track your experience over time.
A Note on Pace
Healing and growth are not linear. Some sessions will feel profound. Others may feel quieter. All of it is part of the journey, and all of it is valid.
